Comms Camp: Engaging the public in the street

Training
151 Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria
Friday 21st February, 2020 - 10:00 to 16:30

About this event

Our next one-day Comms Camp event will help you improve your skills when it comes to engaging with people on the streets.

Whether it's at a community event or in a health and care setting, we'll look at what approaches Healthwatch currently use to speak to people in person to collect their views. The aim of the day is to hear what works from other local Healthwatch, get a chance to learn practical skills, and take away a checklist of success, which you can put into practice.

Who is it for?

Any member of local Healthwatch that is involved in the planning, engagement, and evaluation of events.

What will you learn?

During this session you will:

  • Discuss strengths and weaknesses to help us better understand what we are already doing well when it comes to face to face engagement, and what areas we can improve on.
  • Listen to other Healthwatch about their experience in engaging people at a variety of events.
  • Learn tips and tools from an external party on how to best engage with people when out and about.

Who is running the training session?

The Healthwatch England Communications Team.
