Changes to hospital discharge during COVID-19 – Online Workshop

Wednesday 3rd June, 2020 - 10:00 to 11:00

About this event

Who is this event for?

This event is for Healthwatch staff with insight into how patients have experienced changing discharge arrangements locally, and those with an interest in the impact of hospital discharge arrangements on local social care services.

What will you learn?

Changes to hospital discharge arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic have been successful in freeing up beds for coronavirus patients. However, the fall out on a struggling social care sector will likely be a feature as we move to the next phase of the government’s response, while questions also remain over funding arrangements for some.

  • How have continuing care assessments worked in the community?
  • How have patient transport services supported patients?
  • Have there been any issues with funding for follow-up care?

We want to hear what people’s experiences have been on this area.

Join Healthwatch England’s policy team for an open discussion around how these recent policy changes are affecting patients, and to share questions and experiences.
