Healthwatch achieve many impactful positive changes for service users, but too often these are not fully recognised. By considering the Theory of Change that sits behind each piece of our work and focusing on outcomes from the start, you can increase the scale of your achievements and grab the attention of stakeholders.
These small-group workshops are based on showing you the key elements of the Making a Difference Toolkit. We’re expecting you to come ready and willing to participate. With a maximum of seven participants at each session, you will be able to explore the topic with peers and identify practical steps you can take.
Event type
Interactive learning session with a small group of participants. Please have your camera on if that’s possible.
Please come prepared to speak for a maximum of 2 minutes about a project, piece of research or other area of activity that your organisation has undertaken in the past year or so. Your explanation should cover why you chose to undertake the piece of work, what you did, and the outcomes achieved. We’re not looking for a perfect account, so please feel free to talk about something you’re proud of or you think will interest people, even if you’re not sure about the outcomes achieved.
Who is this event for?
This event is for any Healthwatch paid staff who want to better understand outcomes and impact.
We would ask that only one person from your Healthwatch books a place on a particular workshop, given the small groups involved.
What will you learn?
The workshop will focus on showing you:
- Things to consider when you set your project priorities
- What is a Theory of Change and why you should do one?
- How you can approach setting outcomes
- How assumptions might influence your activities.
Part of the session will involve a group exercise so participants can help each other explore the true impact of their work.
