About this event

About this event

One of Healthwatch principles is to promote and support the involvement of people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local care services. Healthwatch has partnered with Power With and Expert Citizens to assess and implement participatory approaches across Healthwatch nationally and locally.

Power With and Expert Citizens formed a group of people with lived experience who have collectively developed:

  • A common definition of “Active Participation” alongside tangible benchmarks that can be used to evaluate and monitor an organisation’s participatory approaches
  • A toolkit to help Healthwatch support participatory approaches both locally and nationally.

You will hear the group explain their definition of Active Participation, the benchmarks, and tool kit.

The group consists of people with lived experience of health and social care services and participating with their local Healthwatch.
