About this event
This session will show you how to construct a good online survey that will give you actionable insight. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get help from our friendly Research and Insight team.
Please note that we’ll be using SmartSurvey to construct the survey as Healthwatch England provides free SmartSurvey licences to local Healthwatch.

Who is this event for?
This webinar is for all Healthwatch staff and volunteers who are involved or interested in improving their skills in survey design and management.
What you will learn?
You will have the opportunity to:
- Work through an example survey that needs improvement, gaining hands-on experience.
- Learn how to write effective survey introductions that engage respondents.
- Understand how to write consent questions that comply with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
- Identify common pitfalls in survey question design and wording.
- Learn techniques to minimise invalid responses, such as those from bots.
The original example survey questions will be shared with you prior to the webinar so you can prepare.
