About this event

About the event

Sustainability was a key issue raised by Healthwatch during our consultation for our Strategy 2023-2026.

During the Healthwatch Leadership Conference held in September, Chief Executive of Healthwatch, Louise Ansari not only reflected on the accomplishments of our network over the past decade, but also reiterated our commitment to exploring new ways of commissioning the Healthwatch service to secure a more sustainable funding model.

We are holding five webinars to gather the views of the Healthwatch network. These sessions will examine the current model and consider if there are potential modifications which could ensure both the long-term viability and effectiveness of Healthwatch. We will also consider whether these changes can be implemented within the existing legislative framework or if they necessitate legislative change.

These discussions will support dialogue with our sponsor department, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the emerging government following the next general election due to take place by January 2025.

For a better understanding of the context, we’ll set out in a briefing document prior to the sessions various issues we are aware of at Healthwatch England, including those raised with us by local Healthwatch, local authorities and national stakeholders.

We want to hear everyone’s views on how we can secure the future sustainability of Healthwatch. For these webinars, we’ve set a limit of 20 people per event to have a good conversation and allow everyone to have a say. If they get oversubscribed we can put on more webinars.

We encourage you to sign up for one of the sessions.
