You have told us that you want more help when it comes to supporting your staff, demonstrating your impact and working together to make a difference.

To help deliver this we are investing in several changes, including how our Network Development Team work with local Healthwatch at a regional level.

Supporting you in your region

Our Network Development team are often the first point of contact for local Healthwatch when it comes to getting advice. They also play an important role in supporting local Healthwatch to work together regionally.

This work will continue but we also know we need to do more to support you develop your work in areas such as volunteering. Therefore, we are investing in more people and introducing new programmes of work to support you better.

What will support look like in 2020?

We will have a dedicated lead for the five new programmes of work:

  1. Quality assurance - implementing and supporting the introduction of the Quality Framework
  2. Impact - helping you to demonstrate the difference Healthwatch make both individually and collectively
  3. Collaboration - enabling local Healthwatch to collaborate and support the delivery of national and regional projects
  4. Volunteering - looking at how we can improve support for our thousands of volunteers
  5. Campaigns – driving Healthwatch and community engagement elements of national campaigns

This team will include a new Deputy Head of Network who will lead on funding and commissioning.

We are also investing more in training and support with both an Events Manager and Events Administrator, as well as the Learning and Development Manager with Marianne Patterson already in post.

Got a question?

We expect to have all these changes in place by March 2020 but if you have any questions, please talk to Gavin our Head of Network Development.
