Closure checklist
Following the government announcement about the future of the Healthwatch service, we are in a period of considerable uncertainty.
Many local Healthwatch understandably want to be as prepared as possible for a range of future scenarios. As part of this preparation, some of you have specifically requested guidance to help you think through what organisational closure might involve, should it become necessary.
We’ve therefore developed the checklist below to support leaders at any stage—from early options appraisal through to initial planning where appropriate.
The aim is to, as far as possible, help you ‘close well’ and in line with your organisation’s values.
Also provided here is a project planning template that you can adapt as you wish to help support any closure activity.
